Look, you don’t need me to tell you that you need to show up every single day with a strong boss mindset. But I’ll tell you why: Because if you’re not moving forward and taking those steps (however big or small) towards your goals, then you’re moving backwards. There’s no standing still in business, my friend, and you know that.
But you also don’t need me to tell you that it’s freakin’ hard sometimes to show up as the boss every. single. day. Especially when you’re feeling run down, broken, stressed out, overwhelmed and ready to toss in the towel.
That said, if you’re reading this, it means you’re tired of feeling that way. You’re frustrated with yourself for not being able to show up the way that you know you need to (and want to) be.
Let me tell you that I know what it feels like. I’ve been there, and I’ve come out the other side with these three tools & rules. These three ways to unlock your boss mindset on a daily basis will work for you, especially if combined and made non-negotiable every day.
You’ve got this, and I’ve got you. Let’s go!
Get yourself an accountability partner or business bestie
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, but having someone to check in on, bounce ideas off of, complain to and support in return on a daily or weekly basis goes STRIDES to keeping you accountable and focussed. Ones that fit with you aren’t always easy to come by, so yes, you need to be patient. Here are some of the best places to find some if you’re proactively looking, but sometimes the best way is through group or mastermind coaching programs.
Set time aside for personal development
Personal development means something different to everyone. It takes experimentation, trial and error and patience, but when you find tools that work for you to get you in that boss mindset, it makes magic on a daily basis. For me, I make sure that I read for a least 30 minutes every day. I’ve never been super at journalling, but at least once a week, I put pen to paper and get my thoughts out, whatever they may be.
Remind yourself what your goals are every day
Every single day, you should be waking up knowing what you’re working towards. I’m not talking about a giant four-hour strategy session every day. I mean building in reminders throughout your day and in your environment to keep you in check, aligned and intentional with your strategic goals. This could be with a vision board for your business (or your life). I also recommend reviewing your company’s mission and vision statement every morning. It takes less than 2 minutes and is very powerful to revitalize and refocus you. Don’t have an impactful mission and vision statement yet? Let’s set up a time for a chat and we can build one for you together.
