Be 100% honest: Do you know what your vision is?
As our businesses grow and ultimately become more stable, we’re growing too. As entrepreneurs, it is in our DNA to *want to* grow and learn and be challenged.
But it’s so easy to get comfortable with our success, whatever level that may be. It is easy to slow down, even if we don’t consciously want to.
So how do you keep that motivation? How do you stay connected to yourself and your business?
The first step is realizing that you may have checked out. Because when that happens, you can now start to recognize the opportunity to check back in: to yourself, to your business, and to your goals.
The best way that we’ve found to do this is to ask yourself the following questions:
What am I in the business of?
Maybe along the way, you were detoured from your original vision. Which is totally OK. Entrepreneurship is all about adaptation, but it’s possible that you detoured away from an idea that was more aligned with what you want to achieve and what you want to represent. It’s totally fine if your vision has changed over the years. All businesses evolve, change and transform over the years and you should let yours become what it needs to be.
So, ask yourself: What am I in the business of?
The best way to explain this question (and how to answer it) is with an example.
Our own example:
Rebel Office IS NOT in the business of business consulting and brand strategy. Rebel Office IS in the business of helping entrepreneurs build and run their businesses so that they reach their fullest potential.
This now allows Rebel Office to adapt while maintaining our vision and ultimately staying aligned with what matters to the Rebel Office team.
Now you try.
What do I want?
Is your business still giving you what you want out of it? Is it still challenging? Is it still growing? Is it still giving you freedom? Is it still giving you the joy of interacting with clients and customers?
Whatever it is that you want, check back in to make sure your business is giving you what you want. It’s okay if it isn’t. It just means you now have the opportunity to redirect your focus and your business activities to help it achieve what you want it to (again). The most important thing here is for you to keep all your senses open for your business to be able to communicate its needs with you.
How do I make it happen?
Now that you’re back in tune with your business, its overall mission, and how it can serve YOU as well as your clients and customers, and you’ve gotten more clarity on your vision, you now have the power to figure out how to make it happen.
If you’re into meditation and visualization, go for it. Use the mornings or the evenings to get really inside your wishes and ambitions. Think about it. Let it come to you. If you’re into writing nonstop until your pen tells you what your next move is, do it. Your own methods will work because they’re yours, so trust them.
If you need someone to talk it out with, go to your coach, your biz bestie, or whoever else you have in your corner and hash it out verbally. Of course, always remember that we’re here for you too, so please, don’t give up, and don’t coast. Reach your fullest potential and keep pushing beyond it. We are betting on you!
